Golden Touch Craps

Posts of the Month - October

The committee selected RobertM for POM, and the POD goes to LML. They both had interesting points, and although there were not a lot of written responses to these posts, the committee felt certain they were read by many.

Congratulations to both.

After taking the Primer in October 09, It didn’t really seem that that it could be so easy to make money because on the Sunday after class and that Monday, I made enough to pay for the class and my 2 week trip to California to visit youngest daughter and grandchildren with money left over to start my 401G.

Built my 14 foot table and started the practice routine of 1 hour before work and 1 hour after work which many times turned into 2-4 hours when I couldn’t sleep. The craps table was therapy for me following the death of my wife of 27 years. But by practicing for the first 3 months (10,000 practice throws) following the course before I visited a casino, (I cheated 4 times and lost each time)my trips to the casino started to generate money to replenish my savings that had become depleted taking care of my wife for 3 years.

Even though I thought I was doing well, at the first refresher I switched from throwing right handed to throwing left handed due to arthritis damage in my right fingers. Try learning an accuracy skill with your non-dominant hand especially after learning it with your dominant hand! It ain't easy. Back to another 10,000 throws this time left-handed. I continued to make money but more slowly because I had to relearn how to throw.

My throw was not as consistent as I wanted and I decided to take a 2nd refresher in Memphis in ’11 and it helped a lot, but I was still dissatisfied.

So, this October in Vegas, I decided to take the Video Elite and another refresher. As H.C said, "Holly Cow"

I am not sure I can adequately describe the result of taking the Video Elite, plus taking the additional refresher which provided additional re-enforcement of the corrections needed. The deficiencies revealed by the digital recording of my throw, showed 2 significant problems with my grip and that my arm motion was not as straight as it should be. I know the grip issues existed soon after my first refresher but probably could not be seen except by the use of the video to show the slow motion of my grip and toss. Billy’s and Daryl’s expert analysis, eagle eyes, and superb coaching to help correct my flaws I know will result in increased money in the pocket. (Hell, Saturday morning play, Monday and Tuesday play paid for classes and all my expenses plus an additional grand for my 401K.)

I don’t want to forget to mention the superb help I got from Bill Burton, Our refresher leader along with Billy and Daryl in the refresher class. Talk about task masters and getting my moneys worth out of the two classes.

But back to the words to describe the effects of the Video Elite team efforts: Extraordinary, Insightful, Parting of the Red Sea great, Moon Orbit changing.

How to measure the effects? Thursday’s visit to my local casino here in St Louis resulted in THREE back-to-back-to-back 30+ rolls with 12 or more 6&8s in each. The third hand, I had ten 6s. The table was a 14 foot crapless table with a synthetic surface. I play on the crapless because it has the best surface of the 5 tables and I can get my preferred position almost every time I go. A lot of folks also playing at the table were really upset with me because I only threw one crap # in each hand.

It’s the Grip stupid! Gee, where have I heard that before?

THANK YOU BILLY, DARYL and BILL for all your wonderful help.

Where does one learn to have fun AND make money? Golden Touch Craps.

P.S. Something that many seem hesitant to discuss is how much can one make playing craps. I don't know what the range of making money at craps is, but I know that I make more than most of the CFrs. Well since my first class in October of 09 I have replaced just shy of 100 grand back into my savings. With continued classes with GTC I hope to be able to retire in 3-4 years. At least from my Daily job. Without, I figured I would work until I was placed in the coffin!
