Ac- Did You Ever Win and feel like you lost?

Big Ron A.K.A Seymour Green - 05:51am Oct 17, 2009 PT
GTC Grad, 40-50-60 roll club POM 10/09 "The game is won in the preparation for the game, not in the game"

I planned a trip earlier in the week to go to AC. I was short on the money to go to Vegas. I also really want to go to the world series. So I took $800 to AC to see how good I really am. If I could turn $800 to $3500, I would be able to do both.

I had a practice session the night before where I played with the exact bankroll I was bringing and played exactly the way I was going to play. I was playing $30 6/8 $35 10 and $10 5x odds. I was going up a unit on the 6/8 and pressing the first 2 10's $35 -$100-$300. I was going to $15 5x after 3 points made. I had 3 losing rolls I had a good one. I pressed the first 2 10's to $300 took $585 twice, I went to $750 and hit it again. I pressed to $1000 and hit the 10 again. My 6/8 were at About $90 and I had spread out to the 5/9. I hit 3 points and was up $5400 in 40 minutes. I was happy even though it was just practice. I saw that my strategy worked and hoped it would be the same the next day.

I wound up having to work an exra shift on Friday. After a 72 hour week, I arrived in AC at 11:30 pm. The only catch is I had to be back at work at 6 Am. Before I left I recieved a call my a friend who use to work with me. I bring the practice rig out at work and sometimes I teach the drivers about the game when they question me about what I am doing. He was one who expressed interest so I showed him the DVD and taught him some things about the game. He said he had been practicing his toss for months and wanted to come. When we got there I got a room to practice for an hour even though I had no plans on staying.

The place was dead and had $5 tables on a fri. Night. At the first table I talked baseball with the crew and was pretty much breaking even. I was close to breaking a few. I hit points and 6/8's but barely any 10's. After a while The Suits would come over 3 deep when I had the dice and just stare. When I sevened with a couple hundred on the table they left. My protege hit points also. When the dealer asked me if I saw the DVD. I said I saw something on You tube that said to always tip. They were happy. I said craps is hard and they agreed. After getting my initial spread back I was up $50 and had about $250 on the layout for protege's roll. This drunk skinny chick came to the table and put her chips right where he was landing his dice. She also had big hoop bracelets and kept dangling them over the table. My friend sevened and we left for an empty $5 table to get far away from her. The only problem was we were followed by 1/4 of the table. I left the first table up $55 after 1 1/2 hours.

We both started slow at the next table and I was now down $300. On the next roll my comprade homered. He hit points and numbers. My 10 went From $35-$100-$300. I took $585 once the he hit his point. He rolled a 10 on the comeout. I went $15 with $75 odds. I didn't move my $300 from the 10. Both dice landed about a foot before the back wall for the first time. Hard 10 winner!! I collected $585 plus $165 for the pl bet. He sevened out shortly after. I went from down $300 to up $1500 with $825 left on the table. I was still at $2300 total and could smell Vegas.

The next roll I went $15 $100 odds on the 5. $60 6/8 $35 10 and point sevened. I bet the same on my friend and he point sevened. I was now at $1800 I got the dice back and bet the same. I got to $2150 with 15/75 odds on the 4, I went $35-$100-$300 but couldn't get the hit for $585. I branched out to the 5/9 and after a few takes had them at $100. With $300 on the ten I was trying to roll it. Instead I rolled the 6/2 4 times in a row. I had the 8 at $150 and the 6 at $90. With $2150 in the rack and a board full of money I could once again smell Vegas and my $3500 goal. I sevened out and quit with $2150 and $800 left on the table.

On my way out chasing Vegas I dropped anothe $350 and left up 1G $1700 short of my goal. I won but still feel like I lost because I didn't achieve my goal. I have to practice more, I was rusty. I had some really good looking shots and some really ugly shots. I had mostly respectable rolls that I made some money on and also had a few bad ones.

I feel like sh$t right now. I was so close to being in Vegas on Friday I could tast it. I had my 2 very good chances to open the flood gates. The dealers made over $200 on my tips. Plenty of controlled $6/8 and $5 with $10 odds bet and hit for the boys. Everyone in the pit including the suits told us to come back anytime. Skinny your friend with the fat belly was at stick, another Yankee fan. Remember I told him to watch his belly when Stickman was shooting. It was funny and everyone laughed.
