APRIL Post of the Month:
Buckeye, with "Canada Trip Report...Klipper Saves the Weekend"

On April 14 Buckeye posted a trip report titled "Canada Trip Report...Klipper Saves the Weekend". This was truly one great trip report and we are happy Buckeye chose to share this with everyone.

I have attached the entire post below so everyone does not have to go looking for it.

Buckeye GTC thanks you and everyone can pickup something from this great trip report.

All:

Mr. Buckeye and I took a trip across the border this past weekend to meet up with Klipper, Six Shooter, Dan, and possibly Doubleduce.

We didn't plan to play on friday night, but the casino wasn't crowded and we found the table limits playable and our spots open. Dan showed up a little later with his sister-in-law who was kind enough to guard the landing zone. We each took a few turns with a few nice rolls. Mr. Buckeye did hit a 4 point fire bet and we ended the night up a few units. We called it a fairly early night as we would be meeting Klipper and Six Shooter very early on Saturday morning.

Saturday morning 6:00 am. Klipper, Six Shooter, Dan, and Misty are all at the tables already. Mr. Buckeye and I slink in. Where is the coffee lady??? I can't keep my eyes open!

Oh boy, I think, this is gonna be great! Five controlled shooters at the table, we are the Five Horsepeople wanna be's. Dan has a good roll to start us out, a 30. Sadly, is was pretty much down hill from there. I was so bad that I was out and off of the table by about 7:30am. Six Shooter left the casino by 10:00 am. Everyone else decided to break and have some breakfast. There was much discussion about the bouncy tables and how to compensate our throws.

After some rest, Klipper, Dan, Me, and Mr. Buckeye go back to the tables. Although we each had some nice rolls, a couple of 30's, 20's, and teens, most of the rolls were point seven out. We had a late lunch and more discussion about the bouncy tables. On one of Klipper's better rolls he figures that we need to come in lower and a little further from the back wall. Seems to work pretty well, but we are having trouble hitting the same spot. We ended the night early with heavy losses.

Sunday morning 6:00am and again I am looking for the damn coffee lady. Klipper, me, Mr. Buckeye, Dan and Misty are at the tables ready for action. We start off again with not one of us making it past the five count. These bouncy tables are really getting the better of us.

We stank up the place. The box tells me that he is going to teach us how to throw the dice because we are "not consistent enough". UGH. Can it get any worse than the casino telling us that that we not doing it right?? Well OK those are fighting words. I was so mad that I showed him and stomped off to play cards! Ha! take that box man. I'll show you who is boss!

Dan is at his stop loss, so he and Misty decide to head back to Ohio. The die hards, Klipper and Mr. Buckeye hang in at the tables a little longer, because I guess misery loves company. Finally, they decide to take a break to rest and regroup. Klipper finds me wasting my money at the 3 card poker table, and sits to chat with me. Mr. Buckeye decides to take a nap sitting upright at a slot machine. I'm telling you the guy was out cold.

After waking Mr. Buckeye from his beauty rest, we decide to give the table’s one last try. The table that is a little less bouncy that we prefer to shoot on is closed because there is a dealer missing. The only other table open is one that Klipper hates because he feels the rails are higher than the others and it is even more bouncy. We are literally within a few dollars of our stop loss, so I say, what the heck is the difference? We go over and Klipper and Mr. Buckeye get their spots. I didn't want to shoot so I am next to Mr. Buckeye at SR2. We wait around for a few CFer's. I get a phone call and have to step away from the table. I come back just as Klipper has the dice and establishes a point of 5.

Mr. Buckeye is only on the pass line and the 6. I place the 5 and 8. Klipper sets and rolls. He then rolls about four 8's. I hand Mr. Buckeye a green chip and tell him to go up on the 8, which he does. I go up on the 6. On roll number 30, Klipper makes the point 5. In between he does not roll a single garbage number, he mostly rolls six and eight the hard way. Next point is 10. Klipper makes the point right away, hard 10. He keeps rolling, and rolling and rolling, and I must say again, mostly 6 and 8 the hard way, and of course now the whole table is placing hardway bets, so it is taking longer and longer for payouts after each roll. I'm thinking this is not good, it is a distraction, but nooooo....the rolls keep coming, and the chips are filling our racks and the casino supply is depleting. They call for more chips but god love them, in Canada, they stand there waiting patiently until the shooter is finished rolling.

To make a long story longer, Klipper has a 4 point fire bet, holds the dice for over an hour, and here it comes folks....

Sevens out on Roll 65.

Yes, that is a record 65 rolls, an unbelievable, beautiful 65. In that wondrous 65 roll, Klipper brought us all back from oblivion, from a weekend of total loss, to being up a good amout of units.

The story doesn’t end quite yet as I want to move from the table because there are so many people at it. Mr. Buckeye doesn’t want to move, but I want to roll the dice. I move to the other table that is empty except there is one don’t better at the end. I start off nicely and then Klipper and Mr. Buckeye come over and start talking to me. They are so excited about Klipper's roll that I think they forgot I have the dice. One of the crew says to them that they need to stop bothering me. I have nice roll in the teens and then Mr. Buckeye's turn. Don’t better is still playing. Mr. Buckeye takes the dice and pounds out a 4 point fire bet (he hit a total of 6 numbers, the 6 & 5 twice) and has a roll of 28. I am up next and roll 5 numbers to finish off the don’t better and I have a 30 roll. Klipper is up next with a 28. A couple of CFer’s later we decide to call it a weekend. A nice winning weekend.

I will end this post with these words:

“Trust Your Throw”
